Big House in BasqueOak and stone come together in this beautiful house, decorated with traditional furniture and restored to reflect the traditions of the Basque people.
Etxeaundi is a traditional Basque “Caserio”, a farming hamlet dating back to the fifteenth century where every corner breathes a part of our history.
Etxeaundi, Big House in Basque, is spread over 2 floors, with a total of 170 square meters.
On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen of 50 square meters with a large oak table for 8 people.
Two restored cabinets hide a treasure trove of antique porcelain. The walls are decorated with the belongings and tools of the Basque shepherds who emigrated to the United States in the mid-nineteenth century during the gold rush.
A large fireplace provides an ideal cozy spot to enjoy a nice cup of tea relaxing on the comfortable sofas.
On the second floor are two bedrooms, the first with a 1.50 m queen size bed with a carved chestnut headboard.
The second bedroom has a double bed of 1.35m, with a high walnut headboard, complemented by additional tables and chest of drawers.
This floor has a shared bathroom with walnut furniture and marble top and a living room with an antique brown cabinet typical of the Basque farmhouses.
There are two comfortable armchairs and a sofa where you can enjoy a good book with the sunlight filtering through the window.
